EMMANUELA AHIANTI
My interest in art started at the young age of four years old in my preschool art class, where I discovered my love for art and the talent I possessed.
I was raised outside of the United States, in a small country named Togo in West Africa, and at the age of three, I traveled to the U.S. with my parents to start a new life. I graduated from the University of Nebraska with a bachelor’s degree in Studio Arts with a concentration in two-dimensional drawing and a minor in business in December 2022.
As the years have passed, I have continued strongly keeping art as a part of my life and continuing to better my craft. I mainly work realistically with graphite but push myself to step out of that comfort zone and experiment with different mediums and styles. I love teaching art because not only do I see it as passing down my knowledge, but also creating a bond/community with those I interact with.
I have received awards from the Omaha Public Library-Michael Phipps Gallery Exhibition 2022, 1st Place in French Convention Art Contest 2018, 2nd Place in Willa Cather Art Contest 2018, and Scholastic Art and Writing Awards 2017 and 2018.
