I’m a professional artist, illustrator, surface pattern designer, and art educator with more than 20 years of experience teaching children and adults. I work primarily in acrylic paint and mixed media, combining traditional materials with digital techniques to create colorful, layered artwork full of texture, curiosity, and play. My work also extends into commercial art and licensed fabric design with Timeless Treasures Fabrics.
I’ve spent much of my career teaching art in small-group settings, helping students build strong foundational skills while developing confidence in their own creative choices. I believe in giving students the skills and guidance they need to bring their ideas to life, while making sure their artwork remains truly their own. My classes are hands-on, encouraging, and full of opportunities to experiment, make a mess, solve problems, and discover something unexpected.
I’ve continued my own education through specialized study in illustration and surface pattern design, and I’m always learning alongside my students. Outside the classroom, I’m usually painting, designing patterns, sewing or quilting, or exploring nature with my two boys. I’m excited to bring my experience, curiosity, and love of making art to the 402 Arts Collective.
