WRITING ABOUT ANIMALS - MONDAY

WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION:

Writers have always loved animals: Ray Bradbury's author photo included his cat. Flannery O'Connor raised peacocks. E.B. White bought a knitted sweater for his Dachshund. Writing toward this rich literary history, students will relish poems, creative nonfiction, and stories about exemplary animals. Exploring each genre, students will generate new work, capturing daily locomotion, documenting habitats, and empathizing from a non-human point of view.
