Hello, I'm James and I love all things music!

My love for music started in church children's choirs and from my parents' influence. (both having majored in vocal performance) Different groups in middle school, high school, and college like band, jazz band, choir, show choir, and musicals really shaped my life positively by not only being taught music, but so many other skills that transfer to other areas of life. I have been singing for at least 28 years, playing the sax for 21years, and have been playing the electric bass for 10 years now. I studied music education in college, play in a professional local band (Kevin McClure), play and sing at my church (StoneBridge), and have even competed internationally in the barbershop world. (Barbershop Harmony Society) But most importantly, I'm excited to teach people of all ages: musicality, perseverance, freedom, attention to detail, pursuit of excellence, fun, expression, creativity, empathy, therapy, and many more things that music can unlock and express.
