FAQs

  • We do not have a set requirement for potential members of the 402 Arts Collective. The most important thing for us to learn is “missional alignment”. This means that our primary goal is to first help the artist member grow, and then equip and resource them to do so for others. This means that we are not looking for “Seasoned professionals” but instead someone with the willingness to grow and first and foremost serve others they are around. We call this “others oriented”. We believe that if the skill and craft isn’t there to the degree others are not learning and growing the issue will resolve itself. Being a member of the 402 Arts Collective is an amazing way to grow personally as an artist, professional, practitioner, and someone who wants to do something meaningful with their lives.

  • As a general rule, we use our mission statement and our Core Values to guide our membership applications. We are looking for individuals who are truly passionate about using their art form to impact the lives of others in their sphere of influence. • availability in their schedule

    • Good communicator

    • familiar with common technology (email, smartphones, computers, etc.)

  • Yes and no. Most of our programs require tuition paid, or a small fee to be paid by the participants. We operate on grants, charitable contributions, and service revenue to sustain our organization. We are able to offer large financial assistance and scholarships to the public because of the donations and support from the community. We believe in making art enrichment accessible to all walks of life while still paying a sustainable income to the artists who provide service.

  • Artist Instructors, and Artist Coaches are the only members who are able to make an income. Artist members are simply a part of the network of other artists members. Artist Instructors are able to make a sustainable living depending on how many hours of availability they have for teaching. Artist Coaches are also compensated for their time as a consultant. This can also be very lucrative.

  • We have a general compensation rate of 25$-40$ per hour.
